Anne has achieved a remarkable success rate in court. While a King County deputy prosecutor, she successfully tried over 200 cases.

Lead Counsel: John Does v. Dr. Bill Schnall and Richmond Pediatric Clinic. Represents four male patients abused by their pediatrician. King County Superior Court, ongoing.
Lead Counsel: Estate of James Chasse v. City of Portland, et al. Successful defense of multi-million dollar action against Portland Police Department for in-custody death. USDC, District of Oregon at Multnomah, 2009.
Lead Counsel: Douglass v. City of Seattle, et al.Successful defense of City of Seattle in multi-million dollar action involving a minor who suffered major head trauma after being struck in a cross-walk by a vehicle. King County Superior Court, 2008.
Lead Counsel: Hafner-Cottrell v. Snohomish County. Successful defense of wrongful death action against Snohomish police officers for murder/suicide of 19 year old girl by her estranged boyfriend. USDC, Western District Court of Washington, 2007.
Lead Counsel: Jane Does v. Seattle School District. Successful prosecution of pedophile teacher who abused elementary students. Achieved Washington State's largest reported single-victim child sex abuse recovery. King County Superior Court, 2008.
Lead Counsel: Estate of Ammon v. Lease Crutcher Lewis, et al. Successful defense of contractor Lease Crutcher Lewis in Bellevue crane collapse death case. King County Superior Court, 2007
Forestier v. City of Vancouver. Successful defense of multi-million dollar brain damage claim from a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in a cross walk who sued the city for faulty street lighting. USDC, Western District Court of Washington, 2006.
Lead trial lawyer for Olympic Pipe Line Company: Olympic Pipe Line Company v. Equilon Pipeline Company LLC, et al. Successful resolution in case involving $500 million dollars in claims by and between owners, operators and contractors for lost profits and other damages stemming from rupture of pipeline and subsequent shut-down for repair and remediation. USDC, Western District of Washington, 2005.
Lead Counsel: Capps v. State of Washington, et al. Defense of Washington Attorney General and other state agency in matter involving wrongful termination claims by former Assistant Attorney General. Successful resolution through mediation. USDC, Western District of Washington, 2000.
Washington State v. Alvarez. Defense of King County Sheriff’s Deputy George Alvarez in a month long trial. The jury voted 8-4 in favor of acquittal and charges were subsequently dismissed by King County Prosecuting Attorney. King County Superior Court, 2003.
Robert Thomas, Sr. Inquest. Defense of King County Sheriff’s Deputy Melvin Miller with a verdict in favor of the officer, 2002.
Vili Fualaau v. Highline School District, et al. Defense of the City of Des Moines and Des Moines Police Department in claims arising from Mary Kay Letourneau’s sexual relations with her 12-year old sixth grade student, Vili Fualaau. 10-week jury trial resulting in defense verdict. King County Superior Court, 2002.
Defense of the City of Seattle and individually-named officers and command staff in multiple WTO litigation matters, USDC, Western Washington District Court, 2000 and 2001.
David Walker Inquest. Defense of Seattle Police Officer Tommie Doran in shooting of the “skipping shoplifter with a knife” case, which received extensive media attention.Verdict in favor of the officer, 2000.
Luers, et al. v. City of Seattle et al. Defense of the City of Seattle in the WTO class action suit.Claims dismissed on defense motion. USDC, Western District of Washington, 2000.
McMaster v. Fitz Auto Parts. Defense of Fitz Auto Parts in a two-week ADA discrimination/retaliation jury trial resulting in a defense verdict, Snohomish County Superior Court, 2000.
Defense of all top-ranking Seattle Fire Department officials (Chief and all Captains) in the Martin Pang civil case; all claims dismissed. King County Superior Court, 1998.
Bendich v. City of Seattle, et al. Defense of the Seattle Police Department Canine Unit in a national-test-case class action brought by the ACLU. Seven-week jury trial resulted in complete defense verdict. King County Superior Court, 1996.
Dever v. Fowler. Defense of the Seattle Fire Department in a civil rights 42 U.S.C. § 1983 trial wherein the plaintiff, who was accused of murder and arson in a fire that occurred at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, alleged civil rights violations and malicious prosecution based on an inadequate investigation and the charging of the wrong person. A Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist had even profiled the plaintiff’s innocence. After a three week jury trial the result was a defense verdict. King County Superior Court, 1988.
